CONCORD, N.C. – As the NASCAR Cup Series gears up for the Southern 500 at Darlington, Chase Elliott prepares to take his No. 24 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet SS to the track with a different look.
Elliott’s throwback Chevy will resemble the car his father, NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott, raced in 1976 at Rockingham Speedway.
Chase’s appearance this weekend will also be similar to his father’s style back in the ‘70s. Elliott will sport shoes mimicking the loafers his father wore and rock some longer locks as well.
The driver of the No. 24 Chevy said the race at the South Carolina track is one that everyone likes to see.
“It’s a race everybody looks forward to,” Elliott said. “Not just because of the throwback weekend and what they do, but it’s a cool racetrack to race at. It always put on a good show and is fun for the drivers.”
