CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Chase Elliott will lead his Hendrick Motorsports teammates to the green flag on Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Both Elliott and Kasey Kahne advanced to the final round of qualifying Friday evening and will roll off the grid in seventh and ninth, respectively.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. advanced to the second round and will start 23rd.
Jimmie Johnson missed Round 2 of qualifying by a narrow margin, and will take the green flag 25th.
“Another frustrating Friday, unfortunately,” Johnson said. “We’ll be back tomorrow and we’ll have to pass a bunch of cars on Sunday.”
Denny Hamlin captured the pole.
Sunday’s race is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on NBC, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
