KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- For the second consecutive stage at Kansas Speedway, both Hendrick Motorsports teammates competing in the playoffs gained valuable extra points.

Just as they did in Stage 1, both Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson finished inside the top 10 in Stage 2 Sunday afternoon.

This time, it was Elliott who led the way to the green-checkered flag in ninth, earning an extra two points.

Johnson -- who elected to stay off of pit road during a caution late in the stage -- rounded out the top 10 in 10th, tacking on an extra point.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished Stage 2 in 13th and Kasey Kahne took the green-checkered flag in 18th.

The race will conclude with a final, 107-lap segment.
