FORT WORTH, Texas – This weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, Alex Bowman has a special copilot aboard his No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 courtesy of Nationwide: his pup Finn.

And Saturday evening, Bowman was able to spend some time with a dog named Tyler, along with a few other furry friends from Operation Kindness, a local North Texas charity whose mission is “to care for homeless cats and dogs in a no-kill environment until each is adopted into responsible homes and to advocate humane values and behavior.”

Several other NASCAR Cup Series drivers and their own dogs joined Bowman, Jamie Little and Chris Myers from NASCAR on FOX for a dog show in the Texas Motor Speedway infield, supported by Nationwide Pet Insurance.

Following the final judging, Bowman presented Operation Kindness with two checks, both made out for $888.88 on behalf of Hendrick Motorsports and Nationwide.

“Tyler was an awesome dog that Operation Kindness brought to Texas Motor Speedway and he was so nice and fun to work with,” Bowman said. “Nationwide gave all of the dogs fun gift bags filled with treats and toys. I was able to present a check for $888.88 on behalf of Nationwide and surprised them with a second check for that amount on behalf of Hendrick Motorsports, the No. 88 team and myself. My dog Roscoe is a rescue, so being able to present over $1,700 to Operation Kindness is very special.”
