CONCORD, N.C. -- Kyle Larson will start from the pole for Sunday's All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway after the lineup was determined through a random draw.
It's the third race in a row Larson has started from the pole for a NASCAR Cup Series event. The 28-year-old driver and 2019 All-Star Race winner also claimed the pole at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Sonoma Raceway in the last two weeks. He won both of those races, putting him in second place in the standings.
Chase Elliott, the reigning All-Star Race winner, will start in sixth place for the event. William Byron is one row behind Elliott and will roll off the grid in eighth place and Alex Bowman will round out the Hendrick Motorsports fleet with a 15th-place start.
All four drivers were locked into the event since each has won a points-paying race this season. Elliott and Larson will eligible to participate in the event for life since they've won an All-Star race before. Elliott also is grandfathered in for life since he's won a Cup Series championship.
